Ferry Fryston is a suburb of the town of Castleford in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the metropolitan borough of the City of Wakefield.

Before the mine closures of the 1980s, it was home to a coal mine affectionately known locally as Fryston Pit. The area where the mine once stood has now been re-developed.

Wikipedia does not state when the parish was merged into Wakefield, or what its governance was prior to the merger. A half hour's Google Search did not come up with any answers to this question.

History

GENUKI provides a description of the ecclesiastical parish of Ferry Fryston from a gazetteer from the 1820s. It was in the Osgoldcross Wapentake.
