Cemetery notes and/or description

The cemetery is located on the west side of Willow Street (US 41 Business / Indiana State Highway 441) at S. 10th Street. The first burial occurred in 1899.

This cemetery, along with the neighboring Memorial Park Cemetery and Greenlawn Cemetery, are operated by the city of Vincennes. A list of burials is available for download from the city of Vincennes website under the Cemetery Department. The list includes all three cemeteries with the different cemeteries indicated by the first two letters of the burial location (MP for Memorial Park Cemetery, FV for Fairview Cemetery, GL for Greenlawn Cemetery). The cemetery office is located at 911 Willow Street.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) feature ID for the cemetery is 434314 (Fairview Cemetery). The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-42-94 (Fairview Memorial Park).
