Dayton Township is a civil township of west central Newaygo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,002 at the 2000 census.

The City of Fremont is located partially within the township and is the only incorporated municipality.

Dayton Center is an unincorporated community located just a few miles north and west of Fremont at .

In the traditional township numbering for the State of Michigan, Dayton Township is T 13 N, R 14 W.

Michigan also has a township of the same name in Tuscola County.
