Dadlington is a village administered by Hinckley and Bosworth District Council in Leicestershire, England. It is situated between Hinckley, Market Bosworth and Nuneaton. The village has a population of around 301 and contains a 13th-century church (St. James), a pub (the Dog and Hedgehog) and a hotel (the Ambion Court). The Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal runs through the village. Dadlington was a chapelry in the episcopal parish of Hinckley. It was made a civil parish in 1866 and in 1894 became part of Market Bosworth Rural District. In 1936 the civil parish was abolished and the area absorbed into the parish of Sutton Cheney. [edit] HistoryDadlington is on the way between Bosworth Field (where Richard III was killed in 1485) and Leicester Abbey (where he was buried). A silver gilt white boar, Richard III's own badge, given in large numbers to his supporters, was discovered at Fen Hole outside Dadlington in 2010. Wikipedia has more details.
