Dabo is a commune in the Moselle department in Lorraine in north-eastern France. Set in the heart of a 4,000-hectare forest is a gigantic rock topped by a chapel dedicated to a former resident, St Leo IX. It overlooks the Dabo area with its 4 villages and 39 hamlets. [edit] External links
[edit] Early Dabo FamiliesVix Dillenshneider and Anna Keller were born around 1570 and after the House of Leiningen and their royal ancestors, the Dillenschneider's appear to be the first family recorded in Dabo. Vix father was also Vix and he was the Baillif for the Dabo region and is the furthest back known ancestor for many families who are living in or have emigrated from Dabo. [edit] Research TipsThere are a large number of family trees on Geneanet which are from Dabo and the surrounding areas. The Dabo Mairie (Town Hall) website has a genealogy section where you can access indexes and records of birth death and marriage documents. There are Decennial tables from the year 1720-1932 and there are Parish registers from 1680-1805. It would require a lot of work but I would like to create a digital record for each of the decinel tables, starting with the earliest ones first and providing page references to the appropriate parish registers of births deaths and marriages.
