Cropton is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale District of North Yorkshire, England. It is on the border of the North York Moors National Park, 2 miles (3.2 km) north-west of Pickering. At the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 254.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Cropton was located in Pickering Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ecclesiastical parish of Middleton in the Pickering Lythe Wapentake. It was in the Pickering Registration District.
