A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Kilgwrrwg from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "KILGWRRWG, or KILGOOROOG, a parish in Chepstow [registration] district, Monmouth[shire]; 5 miles SE of Llandenny [railway] station, and 5¾ NW of Chepstow. Post town: Usk, under Newport, Monmouth. Acres: 659. Real property: £628. Population: 121. Houses: 25. The property is divided among a few. The living is a [perpetual] curacy in the diocese of Llandaff. Value: £57. Patron: the Archdeacon of Llandaff."

Kilgwrrwg (Welsh: Cilgwrrwg) is a rural parish in the principal area of Monmouthshire, in southeast Wales. It is located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Chepstow and 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Usk in a network of country lanes running through the rolling hills below the Trellech ridge.

In 1935 when the surrounding parishes were merged into the civil parish of Devauden, Kilgwrrwg remained a separate parish until 1974 when local government reorganization transferred the whole of Monmouthshire into Gwent.
