Kilmorack (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Mhòraig) is a small hamlet in Inverness-shire, now in the Highland Council Area. It is situated on the north bank of the River Beauly, 3 miles west of Beauly and 15 miles west of the city of Inverness. [edit] The parishKilmorack is a parish to the west of Loch Ness which lies in Highland Council Area, some 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Fort Augustus and 24 miles (38 km) southwest of Dingwall. Prior to 1975 the parish was located in the old county of Inverness-shire, which was replaced by the Highland Region and in 1996 by the unitary authority named the Highland Council Area. The parish has an area of 579.3 sq. km (223.7 sq. miles). In addition to the villages of Kilmorack and Beauly, it includes the settlements of Tomich, Fasnakyle, Cannich, Inchvuilt, Mauld, Struy, Crask of Aigas and the West Affric estate.
