Canaan Forks is located on the Canaan River, at Forks Stream, 5.47 km east-northeast of Hunters Home, another settlement, in Brunswick Parish, Queens County. The post office was named Forks from 1861-1951. In 1898 Canaan Forks had 1 post office and a population of 25. (Source:Place Names of New Brunswick)
