Bran is a commune in Brașov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is about southwest of the city of Brașov and consists of five villages: Bran, Poarta, Predeluț (Kispredeál), Șimon (Simon) and Sohodol (Szohodol). It is included in the historical sub-region of Țara Bârsei (Burzenland). The medieval Bran Castle is a popular tourist destination, partly because it is associated with the home of Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel of the same name. [edit] Research Tips
