Lovell's Gazetteer (1895)

  • "BOLTON FOREST, a small post settlement in Brome co., Que., on Lake Offord, 2 miles from Eastman Station, on the C.P.R. It contains 1 store and 1 waterpower saw mill. A mile distant, on the opposite shore of the lake, rises the Offord Mountain, said to be the highest in the Quebec Province; a foot-path leads to the summit, where the scenery is beautiful and the air cool and invigorating."
