Barughs Ambo or Barugh (Great and Little) is a civil parish in the Ryedale District of North Yorkshire, England, covering the hamlets of Great Barugh and Little Barugh. Great Barugh is located on a junction in the road between Malton and Kirkbymoorside. Barugh is around 15 miles west of Scarborough and 4 miles west of Pickering.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Barughs-Ambo from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"BARUGHS-AMBO, a township in Kirkby-Misperton parish, [North Riding of] Yorkshire; 4 miles SW of Pickering. It consists of the hamlets of Great and Little Barugh. Acres: 1,433. Real property: £2,094. Population: 318. Houses: 60. A well-preserved Roman camp is at Great Barugh."

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Barughs Ambo was located in Pickering Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ecclesiastical parish of Kirby Misperton in the Pickering Lythe Wapentake. It was in the Pickering Registration District.
