Back Lots is located 2.24 km NW of Douglastown in Newcastle Parish, Northumberland County. In 1866 Back Lots was a farming community with approximately 20 resident families: included the community of Keefe Road. Back Lots became part of Douglastown which later amalgamated with the city of Miramichi. (Source:Place Names of New Brunswick)
