  • "AYER'S FLAT, a post village in Stanstead co Que., on the Tomifoba River, with Massawippi as its port. It is a station of the B. & M. R. It contains a Union church, 3 stores, 1 hotel, a saw and a grist mill, a carriage factory, print office and express office. Pop. 300."
