A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Ascott from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"ASCOTT, a hamlet in Great Milton parish, Oxford; near the [River] Thame, 6 miles N of Wallingford. Population: 20. Houses: 6."
