The original Abbeville County, South Carolina was created in 1785 from the Ninety-Six Circuit Court District. In 1800 the original Abbeville County, South Carolina became the Abbeville Circuit Court District, South Carolina. In 1868 Abbeville Circuit Court District once again became Abbeville County, South Carolina.
