Zwaantje Eefting married Siebring Middel in Smilde on 18 Feb 1865. Could Zwaantje Middel be her first married name? (The hint was from a MyHeritage tree which from the teaser in Google listed a Zwaantje Middel born in Smilde 2 Apr 1844.) --pkeegstra 11:41, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

They had children between 1865 and 1877, including Geeske on 17 Jun 1870, and Geertje on 21 Jan 1877. --pkeegstra 20:51, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Then again, there is a marriage in Vlagtwedde 24 May 1866 between Hendrik (elsewhere sometimes Hindrik) Trip and Zwaantje Beekman, and the latter was illegitimate and may have taken her mother's husband's name when she immigrated. (Unfortunately, the marriage date doesn't match the 1900 census.)

Ah, Yes. Zwaantje's mother married Jan Harkes Middel in Nieuwe Pekela 27 Apr 1844. He died at Wildervank 7 Feb 1878, but the last child for whom he is named as father was in 1860.

Hindrik and Zwaantje had a daughter Geertruid on 1 Feb 1867.
