Was he son of William and Elizabeth Weeks? [3 January 2011]

According to the quote from Savage on the page of William Weeks (30), Savage lists a son William born 26 Nov 1658. However, the VR lists a son George born 26 Nov 1658. Either Savage is wrong, and William and Elizabeth had no son William, or the VR has the incorrect name. Another alternative is that George was born in 1658 and named after this grandfather (William's father). When his grandfather died in 1659 (assuming the VR of the death of George in 1659 was for his grandfather), he was renamed William after his father. While this seems bizarre, apparently this type of thing happened.

Since this is only tangentially related to my line, I leave this up to a future genealogist to sort out. --DataAnalyst 09:37, 3 January 2011 (EST)
