One William Trowbridge or Two. [21 May 2018]

Jacobus, 8:1859 says that William and Mehitabel (Blakeslee) Trowbridge had two sons named William, one born 13 June 1725 who died soon, and one born c. 1736 who died at West Haven 14 December 1797. Trowbridge, 128, that they are the same individual. Jacobus apparently based his conclusion on the record which says that W. T. died æ. 61 in 1797. Trowbridge says that W. T. was commissioned ensign of the parish trainband May 29, 1751. It seems that a sixteen year old would have been awfully young for that appointment. If that ensign was this W. T., it is more likely that Trowbridge was correct. At any rate, there is no genealogical impact whichever interpretation is accepted.--jaques1724 16:23, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
