Confusion about two William Thompsons [15 March 2021]

Other pages on WeRelate show a William Thompson Sr. (249) married to Jean Stuart, as well as Wm. Thompson (289) of Tinkling Springs married to Jane Osbourne. Now Wm. Sr. is generally considered to be the one that donated the land for the Tinkling Springs Church, but Wm. (TS) is listed here as such. Both came from Ireland, born about the same time. Both married Jean / Jane. Each Wm. shows different children. Wm. Sr. supposedly died without a will a will, but Wm (TS) did have a will. In reading all of the record citations on both Wm. pages, it seems that they may often be confused, especially the ones that cite wives names.
