Anderson and Smith (2009)3 claim that Benoni Twitchell, b abt 1682, is the son of William Allen and Abiel Twitchell, the unmarried sister of William's wife, Elizabeth (Twitchell) Allen. It is not clear to me at this time how they came to the conclusion that William is his father. More research needed. --Cos1776 21:50, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
A snippet view on books.google.com [1] is sufficient to show that he was ordered whipped, so there is clearly a court record of it somewhere. The full book probably would cite the specific source. --Jrich 21:11, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
