The Viola Ann Case, daughter of Mitchel Case and Betsy Groff, is not the same Viola Ann Case born in Oakland County, Michigan. They may have been cousins, but they are not the same person. The Viola Ann Case (born in Oakland County, MI), who ends up marrying Alfred Williams, does show up in the 1850 Census for West Bloomfield, Oakland, MI, with her mother Harriet Case. Harriet's husband is absent because he is off mining gold in California at the time of the census. Harriet's maiden name is likely Benjamin and she is likely the daughter of Daniel Benjamin and Elizabeth Watkins with possible links to a long line of Benjamins.
