[add comment] [edit] Hmmm... [24 March 2011]I was a little surprised to find a death listed in 1661 in Lancaster for a person that lived in Hingham and Scituate. A Thomas Nichols died in Hingham in 1696. After his wife Rebecca d. 1675, he married a second time. None of that would work with a death in 1661. And a birth in 1592 wouldn't fit a person who died in 1696. So I started looking around. The first thing I find is that the cited source agrees with the above, not with what is on this page. Next I compare the information on this page "Birth 1592 England", "Death 3 Jan 1661 Lancaster" to Thomas Joslin, his father-in-law "Birth ABT 1591 Roxwell, Essex, England" "Death 03 NOV 1660 Lancaster". Making allowances for a probable calendar error (11th month was Jan not Nov in 1660), they are virtually the same. This appears to be a data entry error. I will be changing this page. --Jrich 16:35, 24 March 2011 (EDT) |
