Person talk:Thomas Clark (117)

There are many, many Thomas Clarks [2 November 2009]

Drawing on Source:Anderson, Robert Charles. Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, which presents a tortuous analysis of the Clarks of Ipswich, there were at least 4 Thomas Clarks of Ipswich, plus there is some possibility of more. Sgt. Thomas Clark (not the Sgt. Thomas Clark of Boston) was also known as Thomas the tanner, who was in Ipswich by 1634 and had a wife named Sarah. His son Thomas was also Sergeant and tanner, and had a wife named Rebecca. There was also another Thomas Clark in Ipswich, a carpenter, wife named Grace, sometimes called Junior though close in age, and who also had a son Thomas, who was a tailor, b. 1638, m. Abigail Cogswell and d. 1682.

In any event, this Thomas, b. 1638 in Ipswich does not appear to belong in Family:Thomas Clark and Susanna Ring (1), and I am removing him from it. --Jrich 23:43, 1 November 2009 (EST)
