Person talk:Susanna Unknown (227)

Susanna could not have been born in 1622 to William and Joan as William was then still married to his first wife Sara. who died in 1625 along with all but 2 of her children, Edward and Hannah. Neither culd she have been born in Sandwich. William remarried to Joan 3 Jan 1625 (O.S.) Susanna may have been Joan's dau. by Roger. They did not come to Sandwich until abt 1637. Therefore, she was born either in England or in Watertown. Upon Further study, I don't believe Susannah was a Swift. There were 2 Ralph Allen's in Sandwich. Their relationship is unknown. Ralph the husband of Susannah and son of George and Sara is listed as a planter and a Millwright. Whereas The other Ralph was a mason and married Esther swift.--Scot 20:22, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

(Ref: The Great Migration, I:28 [Sketch of George Allen])-"RALPH, b. say 1617; m. by about 1642 Susanna[?] ----- (eldest certain child, Joseph, b. about 1642 [GMNJ 16:7]; her forename given in many sources as Susanna, but without record evidence cited). I think it's pretty safe to detach her from William and Joan (-----) (Dimbleby) Swift and we're probably somewhat optimistic if we call her Susanna without the question mark.--jaques1724 20:39, 21 June 2011 (EDT)
