death date [20 July 2011]

I removed the death date of 1712 in Newbury. The date is imprecise, and there is no source cited, and Sarah's second marriage is not shown on this page, so I am forced to guess where this comes from. Based on my research, and this lack of indication of careful research, I can only guess this is an error.

Samuel Greenleaf d. 1694 and Sarah m. (2) Peter Toppan, Jr.

The vital records of Newbury show a death of Sarah Toppan, "w. Jacob, jr." on 23 Aug 1712. There is no death record for the wife or widow of Peter.

Jacob m. "Sarah Kent", i.e., not Sarah Greenleaf. He remarried again in 1715, confirming that it was his wife that died in 1712. There is no remarriage of Peter shown in the vital records. Various Toppan genealogies do not give a death date for Peter's wife. --Jrich 11:17, 20 July 2011 (EDT)
