Person talk:Sarah Harmon (47)

Thinking of splitting this into 2 records [10 December 2010]

See the notes in the citation for her marriage to Thomas Horton. Thomas Horton's wife was named Sarah, but there is only circumstantial evidence, and very little of that, to support that it was Sarah Harmon. This was essentially speculation in a book on the Hortons. 2 other possible Sarah's were identified, including one born in 1643. Note that if Thomas Horton married Sarah Harmon, she was only about 16 at the time of marriage - not impossibly young, but certainly younger than the norm.

Even in the uncertain world of genealogy, where we incorporate unproven relationships based on circumstantial evidence, I don't think this one makes the cut. I am seriously thinking of splitting this record into 2 - Sarah Unknown, wife of Thomas Horton, and Sarah Harmon, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Harmon, and marking them as 'nomerge' with each other.

Any objections? --DataAnalyst 18:14, 10 December 2010 (EST)
