This source has the parents as:

Samuel Thomasson, Sr. (1722-23 Oct 1793) and Ann Payne (~1730-?) They were married abt 1752 in Louisa Co, Virginia--Buddy 20:58, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

I checked the listing of his brother Poindexter Thomasson. I have the same information for Poindexter.
