[add comment] [edit] From Sally Carr (2): Huh? [8 January 2015]I assume it is some sort of a data error that has caused a person named Carr to be given to a Family named Peaslee with a birthdate that is 2 months away from one of their own children. I would follow the Ancestry link but one can't if one is not a member, so effectively it is useless as an authority. My experience with Ancestry Trees is that they are worthless as sources, not generally giving sources, or merely copying from another place that doesn't give sources. My impression is that the general consensus of users at this website would be that they should not be relied on as sources. Their error rate is unacceptably high, and having cleaned up many such citations, they deserve exactly the reputation they have. By the way, Sally/Sarah's birth in 1750 is not found in the first place expected, namely the Newbury VRs. There is a baptism in the right year, but not on that day, and the Carr Genealogy says that Sarah, daughter of Richard Carr, was born 17 Mar, so it does not appear to be the same person. Nor does the Peaslee book, nor the Carr book, seem to show any mention of Sally or Sarah Carr. --Jrich 21:02, 8 January 2015 (UTC) |
