Re: "It could be that Thomas married (2) Rose Tilley Hyllier, widow of Hugh Hyllier, who was the sister of Elizabeth Tilley Howland, Mayflower passenger."

On Hugh's page is an article noting that Hugh himself was known as "Hugh Tilley alias Hillier" (TAG, Vol. 37, p. 75), use of aliases occurring for various reasons, including step-children, guardians or illegitmatcy. Thus the combination or Rose and Tilley reflects nothing of Rose's maiden name, but is a consequence of her marrying Hugh.

If there is evidence that Rose is sister of Elizabeth Tilly please provide it. Robert Charles Anderson says of Rose Tilley that she was "bp. Henlow 28 Feb 1601/2; no further record". I think we can agree this woman was not having children with Thomas Huckins in the 1650's (e.g., Person:Joseph Huckins (5)), since she would have been too old. Documents says John Tilley only came with wife and daughter Elizabeth. --Jrich 21:20, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
