Person talk:Robert Forthe (1)

Alterations have been made [18 September 2019]

Following the facts given in your references, I have

  • changed the date of death of Martha, Robert's first wife. Originally it was 1568, or before the date of her daughter's birth.
  • added a tentative date for the second marriage. This allowed it to be placed in chronological order.
  • changed the place of baptism for the children to the place of birth for the reason given below.

The reference states that Robert was a "Docter of the Civell Lawe". This would allow him to have residential lodgings or chambers in the Middle Temple. These were not just offices. Families could live there. The article in Wikipedia is informative. But the Middle Temple was not a place of worship. Baptisms for children of residents of Middle Temple would have more likely occurred in the Temple Church or another nearby church in the City of London. See if you can find more sources on Robert Forthe and where he lived.
