[add comment] [edit] 2002 Rootsweb inquiry [28 October 2022][moved here from main page --cos1776 17:45, 28 October 2022 (UTC)] [1] From: "Phil Andrew" <[email protected]> Subject: Posting! Robert ANDREW, Henry HOLADAY Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2002 11:07:40 -0600 I continue to search for any and all references to Robert Andrew. A Robert first appears in Kennet Twp, Chester County in 1737. Another Robert (maybe not the same one) shows up in London Grove Twp from 1747 until 1760. In 1748 Robert appears as a wedding guest in London Grove. He was probably single at the time. Among the other guests were Jane HAYES, apparently a single woman. (Robert's first wife was a Jane with whom he had one son.) At the same wedding there were four single Sarahs, Sarah with surnames JOHNSON, SMITH, PENNOCK and JACKSON. Could any of these ladies be candidates to become Robert's wife? Later on, in 1756, he is again, a wedding guest, this time with wife, Sarah. Sarah was received into the Quaker fellowship in New Garden MM, Chester Co, in 1758. Robert followed four months later. In 1762 they removed to Fairfax MM, VA, thence to Warrington MM, PA. Finally in 1765, they removed to Cane Creek MM, Orange Co., NC. After this they appear several in Hinshaw's Vol I, and become quite to trace, as do their progeny, my own ancestors. Question....does anyone here have knowledge of Robert's movements, possible parentage in the time frame 1757 to 1765? |
