Location of Hailes [1 April 2013]

At least two parishes in Midlothian and East Lothian make reference to Hailes.

• Colinton, Midlothian includes an ancient parish named Hailes which lay to the northwest of today's main settlement.
• In Prestonkirk, East Lothian there are the ruins of a castle in between the settlements of Over Hailes and Nether Hailes which can be seen on a map from the National Library of Scotland
