I believe you will find 27 Dec 1664 was the burial date?

- Both S9 and S10 explicitly identify their dates as the date of death. If you have evidence when his funeral occurred, perhaps a diary entry by one of the attendees, feel free to add it, as it would clarify the discrepancy. But on the whole one has to suspect that both dates are based on the same underlying primary record, and it seems far too likely that one or the other printed record is simply the result of a transcription error (a lot of colonial 7's have an exaggerated dip in the top that almost make them look like a sloppy 4), a copying error (writing an article from notes made earlier while visiting town hall), or a typing error (especially if a numeric keypad was used). As it stands, I believe S10 deserves precedence as a more contemporary record, S9 offering no description of where its date came from. --Jrich 16:46, 16 August 2011 (EDT)

I have absolutely no conflict with your cleaning-up the Soucres.
I would suggest that your Note belongs on the Talk page rather than the Person page because it is about how and why you cleaned things up rather than about the late Michael Metcalf himself.

- Probably right, but I hate that style of listing any source that even contains a person's name and was in the mood to yell at people when I wrote it. Not that they were listening.
- Note: An attempt has been made to clean up the mess of sources on this page. MySources were converted to Sources to give unambiguous source citations, and some sources that pertained to Michael's children (Michael only mentioned as parent) were removed to the children's page. The first four sources were not available to me, so it cannot be determined if they actually provide useful information about Michael and/or whether that information agrees with the facts presented on this page. --Jrich 12:42, 12 December 2010 (EST)
