Children of Meshack and Sarah Elizabeth Rone Burchfield [21 November 2023]

In the 1830 Warren Co., KY Federal Census, Meshack and Sally are listed as having two sons and no daughters. In the 1840 Warren Co., KY Federal Census, Meshack and Sallie have four sons and two daughters. It is doubtful, the older female is their daughter. The young female may have died before 1850. Sally Rone Burchfield married Joseph Taylor on Dec. 4, 1849 in Warren Co., KY. Two sons are listed in the 1850 Warren Co., KY Federal Census, Bedford and Commodore Perry Burchfield. Sally Rone Burchfield had one son by Joseph Best Taylor, Newton Rone Taylor. Sally Burchfield Rone Taylor died on Feb. 16, 1867. Sally is buried by her husband Meshack Burchfield Jr. in the John Rone Cemetery in Warren Co., KY. Son Thomas B. Burchfield died in 1846 in Butler Co., KY. Probate date is June 27, 1846.

Many trees on ancestry.com list a daughter Paradine Burchfield (Paradine Taylor) and son William A. Burchfield (Allen Taylor) as the children of Meshack and Sally Rone Burchfield. They are the children of Joseph Taylor and Polly Hundall. An Angeline Burchfield has been found in Breathitt Co., KY. She is not their daughter. It is doubtful Meshack and Sarah had sons named Stanford and Young Burchfield. No birth, marriage, census, deed, or death records have been located for these individuals.

White), James Alfred Burchfield (Jane Givens Stuart/Stewart), Bedford Burchfield (moved to Deska Arkansas, fought in Civil War, & did not marry), & Commodore Perry Burchfield (Nancy E. Miller, no children, & moved to Christian Co., Missouri).

Meshack and Sarah Elizabeth Rone Burchfield did not have sons named John Noah, Joseph, Hezekiah, Jeremiah, or Henry. More than likely someone is confusing the Jefferson Co., TN line with the Warren Co., KY Burchfield line.
