The problem with using indices [23 June 2022]

This page is a mixture of facts belonging to two different people, plus added errors. I am attempting to fix it.

This happens because:

  1. single census records are used. Census records is collected over a lifetime can give great hints about a person's life, but any single census entry carries a significant error rate for many obvious reasons: verbal transmission of information, spelling issues, handwriting issues, indexing issues, poor training and skills of the parties involved.
  2. a birth and death are matched together based on an estimated birth date instead of hunting for the actual birthdate matching the indicated parents. Therefore, the death belongs to one person, the birth to a different person, the marriage was missed and the wrong death date for the daughter of these parents is given. --Jrich 15:07, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
