Person talk:Mary Whipple (1)

Who is this? [14 August 2011]

One of the problems with no sources on a page, is that when the details are not sufficient to identify a person, there is no where to go for answers. One can then only guess intent. Naturally, the first guess is usually that an error was made.

According to Source:Whipple, Blaine. History and Genealogy of "Elder" John Whipple of Ipswich, Massachusetts, p. 76, John Whipple and Martha Reyner had no daughter named Mary. According to VR Ipswich, the only Mary born near the "1668" specified on this page, is Mary, b. 11 May 1667, but to a different family, that of John 3d. Elder John would be the oldest until he died in 1669, his son John would be John Jr. (who is currently shown as the father), and John 3d would be the son of Matthew, b. 1632, who in 1667 was married to Mary Stevens and not surprisingly, named a daughter after her.

I am assuming that this page was intended to be the daughter of John 3d, there being no other obvious candidate, so updating the birth date and parents accordingly. --Jrich 21:23, 14 August 2011 (EDT)
