[add comment] [edit] Unsubstantiated information [25 October 2010]The Ancestral File (AFN: 92D1-M3) gives her name as Mary Loring, and provides two possible sets of parents and a christening date (15 Oct 1615 in Cononicorum, Dorset, England). While there may have been a Mary Loring christened on that date in Dorset, there appears to be no sound research to link her to John Abbe, who is speculated (in the Ancestral File) to have come from Norfolk, and (in Abbe-Abbey Genealogy) from Northamptonshire. The name Mary Loring was published in the Abbe-Abbey Genealogy in 1916, as second-hand information without a firm citation, and has not been considered reliable information by reputable genealogists publishing since then. Therefore, I have removed her surname, with a note indicating that her surname may have been Loring. The IGI also has 2 or 3 records that indicate her surname was King, so this is another potential alternative. All that really appears to be known about her is that her first name was Mary and that she died in Wenham on 9 Sep 1672 (from the Wenham VRs). --DataAnalyst 23:07, 24 October 2010 (EDT) |
