Mary Jane Mitchell was the daughter of:

John Jr.Mitchell and Margaret Porter who were married in Augusta Co.VA in 1755. John JR. Mitchell was born about 1716. His will was dated Feb. 2, 1790. Margaret Porter was born 1733. Prob. Orange Co. She died abt. 1795 She was the daughter of Wm.Sr.Porter and Gean Mackey. Her siblings were: John,(m. Hannah Dobbs) William Jr.,(m. Mary Bowen) Mary,(m. John Mackey)and Rebecca Jane(Jean)m. Samuel Black.

They(John JR. Mtichell and Margaret Porter) had the following children:

John (III)Mitchell who married a woman names Agnes(marriage records show an Agnes Brownlee m. date sep.15,1785 and an Agnes Whitley marriage date May 11,1780. He migrated to So.Carolina.

Margaret Mitchell was said to have married Robert McClure Apr. 27,1791

William Mitchell married Susannah Fulton June 5th,1797 and migrated to Kentucky.

Mary Jane Mitchell married Andrew McClure June 15,1789 and migrated to Kentucky. Her brother Thomas was surety for marriage consent

Thomas MItchell married Rachel Crawford in 1799. (In both Diehl and Morton) Migrated to Kentucky.

Hannah Mitchell ( Have no info on her ) Have found no marriage record for her.--RBH 23:37, 11 September 2012 (EDT)
