Spelling of the surname [25 November 2013]

Hi, I am a descendant of Margaret Lammey. I am writing about the variants in the spelling of her surname. Her maiden name is spelt on the birth certificates for the two children born in South Australia as LAMMEY. That is also the spelling used by the descendants of her younger brother who also live in Australia. It is also spell LAMMY by the relatives in North America (mainly Canada) and as LAMMIE by the family still living in Northern Ireland. The spelling LAMMAY appears on the death record for one of her nephews who died shortly after his birth in South Australia.
