Maiden Name Unknown [31 December 2020]

It seems unlikely her maiden name was Hogshead. First, there is no record of her birth name or marriage. Second, her supposed father, John Hogshead, made his will in 1756, when she was a widow with small children. He left land, farm animals and household goods to his sons James, John, David, and Michael; daughter Rebecca; and grandson William Allen, but does not mention a daughter Margaret. It seems unlikely he would fail to make provision for a widowed daughter.

The confusion might have originated from another Frame-Hogshead marriage: John Craig Frame (2nd great nephew of this John) married Rachel Hogshead in 1814.--Jswanstrom 00:35, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
