Margaret d/o Samuel Black and Catherine Shaw [2 March 2020]

I doubt that Margaret who m. James McGuire in Ireland in 1755 can be their daughter.

Rev. Samuel Black was educated at Edinburgh University at Edinburgh, Midlothian, SCT, and licensed to preach in Glasgow and in 1732 in Armagh Presbytery in Ireland. He arrived in New Castle, DE, before 4 Apr 1735 when he was called "lately from Ireland" in a list of members of the New Castle Prebytery. He was was ordained as a minister of Forks of the Brandywine Church, Chester County, PA, on 10 Nov 1736. In May 1742 at Dauphin County, PA, Samuel became first pastor of the Conewago Presbyterian Church. In 1747, Samuel and Catherine went to Rockfish, Nelson County, VA, where Samuel was the first pastor of the Presbyterian Church. On 26 Jun 1751, he purchased 400 acres on Mechum's River in Albemarle County and began preaching at Mt. Plains Church in 1752.

His will dated 25 Jul 1770 at Charlottesville, Albemarle County, VA, mentioned sons Samuel, James, John, and William, daughters Margaret, Mary, and Sarah, and wife Catharine. Daughter Margaret was born c1749 in Albemarle Co VA and married Samuel Price (1747-1840) of Greenbrier Co VA about 1773. But during the 1770s James McGuire and wife Margaret were having children in several different VA counties.
