alt birth [1 July 2013]

I removed the alt. birth of Jun 7, 1654 in Gloucester because the Gloucester VRs do not have such a record (nor other towns around there) and no source was given. If it was legitimate, it should have been found in the Gloucester VRs. A source should have been supplied in any event, of course, but even more so, if the source is a non-obvious one. Some other sources on the Internet actually disagree, saying he was born in Weymouth, though no birth record is found in Weymouth VRs either, such a disagreement usually indicative of a situation where the birth is not known, and all answers are merely assumptions. Even so, none of the various sources seem to know the precise date of his birth, just give the year, which is undoubtedly derived from the age at death, without reflecting specific knowledge of his birth date. One wonders why a source giving this precise date cannot be found if this date has any actual basis? So, without a source, one can only assume it is without basis.
