Hi, you may be interested in the text I entered on the pages for John T. Early and the girl that John and Catherine took in and adopted, Sarah Moyer (6), Sarah "Melissa" Moyer, about 1859-1860. Magdalena was living with John T. Early and Catharine and family during the last year of her life.
Although I am not directly descended by the Earlys, I consider them ancestors because of the kindness they showed in taking in an orphan girl and raising her. When Melissa died as a young woman, they took in her young daughter to live with them for a while. John Early's name has come down in my family as "Grandpa Early," so called by Melissa's daughter, my great-grandmother. I wish I knew more about them. If you have any photos or any more information, even tidbits, about the Early or Byerly families, I would dearly love to know more.
