Birth before parents' marriage verified 8 Aug 2024 by DataAnalyst. Comments left by DataAnalyst: She was born too late to be the daughter of Ambrose Lucas. She is called the daughter (not step-daughter) of Albert Benoit in the 1921 census (when John Lucas was identified as Albert's step-son). Albert was a bachelor when he married Cordelia, so she is not from an earlier marriage of his. It is assumed that she was born to the widow Cordelia and that Albert was her father. While this is not proof that Albert and Cordelia were her parents, there is no obvious error. No source of her birth date is easily found online, but it could not reasonably be later than 1906, given the younger children in the 1911 census, and a source is present for the marriage of her parents.
