We are stuck on Leven Bennett b. abt 1750 Pennsylvania or Holland.

Had a find just the last two weeks while up in SLC on this one. In 1789 he was charged with fornication and bastardy. So now have his connection to the mother Elizabeth Broody (Brawdy).

But nothing beyond this as of yet.

These are the parents of Mary Bennett b. 3 May 1789 who was the spouse of the Joseph Caldwell b. 1780 above.--henk 14:26, 8 May 2013 (EDT)

'conclusion': When I'm researching a person, I try to gather as much info as I can find , especially everything else but dates, what did he do for a living, what does his name mean, his fathers name, where did he live, what's the history of that place, how does he fit into this history.

'Brainstorming" about Leven Bennett, I don't think of someone from the Netherlands. He is or a Pennsylvania Dutch descendant (So from Germany or Suisse) or a Quacker descendant. ( have no proof for this) just his first name, which comes from Hebrew, which could point out that there is strong religious tradition, and his last name which comes from the Latin Benedict, which means Blessed and has the same Religious tradition. and the names of his siblings (when they are)

The area he lives in, gives another 'proof' for that point a view. (Though my knowledge of American History is not that good, especcialy for that period.) So I think I can't help you further on this one;-(

BTW the Dutch early settler, William Adriansz Bennet, looks to be British too. --henk 07:26, 9 May 2013 (EDT)
