The place of birth was shown originally as "Mülheim, Bernkastel, Rheinland, Preußen, Germany", and covered by the Werelate bot to Mülheim and der Ruhr". The correction is appropriate, but the identification of "Mülheim, Bernkastel, Rheinland, Preußen, Germany" as the place of birth is worth commenting on for the benefit of those who may come after. The short version of the story is that "Mülheim, Bernkastel, Rheinland, Preußen, Germany" does not exist, now or ever. "Mülheim an der Ruhr" is a genuine location in what is now Rhein Hessen in the Ruhr River valley, just upstream from where it discharges into the Rhine. " Bernkastel" is also a real place, but it lies a good many miles to the south in the Rhein Pfalz. For reasons unknown genealogists of the In d den Hoffen-Schiffenbaur line frequently conflate the two, usually identifying it as the place of birth for the children of this couple. Mülheim and der Ruhr can be easily documented (most of the children were baptized here), and a Mülheim marriage record exists for Elizabeth and Evert. I don't know why people conflate the two places, but I've seen no documentation to support the Bernkastel location. Its conceivable that Elizabeth originally came from there, but that has not been documented (at least as far as I've seen). Q 12:14, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
