Entries in name fields [17 February 2017]

Hello. I'm working on the page examples for our project and thought I would use this one that is referred to on the conventions page, but it doesn't seem to follow the convention that was posted, i.e. farm name (Kviteseid) in the first row and holding name (Sagabukti) in an alternate row. This is one of those cases where I personally don't think it matters which row contains the farm name, but I do think the farm name should be entered in one of the rows if he was ever recorded that way. The page was created a while ago, so it is quite understandable if you do not remember the thinking at the time, but since it is one of the examples given on the conventions page, I want to make sure it is correct. Do you have any insight? Thanks, --cos1776 20:24, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

I just hadn't gone back to change it after proposing the convention. Fixed now.--DataAnalyst 20:44, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Got it. Thanks again. --cos1776 20:52, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm still a little troubled by this one. Why isn't he entered with Surname = "Johnsen Hvideseid" which would match both records cited? I understand that the farm/parish/municipality name changed to Kviteseid as the years went on and that "Jon" is another form of Johan(nes), as is "John", but considering that the records cited use the consistent spelling of "John" for his father and "Hvideseid" for his residence and the suffix "-sen" is more consistent with Norwegian patronymics (vs. "-son" in Swedish), shouldn't his name entries match the sources? Please know that I am not trying to be difficult, I am just up to my eyeballs in the conventions right now, so I am noticing this kind of thing all over the place as I try to find good examples for the Help pages.
Here's why this might be a problem - If I didn't know that a page existed for him already, and I came to WeRelate to look for him with the 1865 census in hand and entered what was on the census into the Search engine ... his page does not appear. --cos1776 22:51, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Correction: he will appear if the net is cast wider [1]. I am logged in so much, that I am not sure what the default is when people Search for the first time. But... still, it seems that the names entered should not be different from the records without some other source to back it up. --cos1776 23:24, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
