I removed some of the text on this page trying to make the page read easier and to the point.

[It is common for colonial people to refer to in-laws or step-relations as family members with no qualification. So the following means nothing.]

It is further interesting to note that John, son of this John, refers in a will to his mother Judith, which seems somewhat odd, if indeed, Elizabeth was his mother.

[Not sure how this helps identify Judith Winslow, besides which it may not be accurate. Jael had an illegitimate child before marrying, which explains probably why she married an older man, plus argues that she was older than 16. In fact, she was probably 20-25 depending on which estimation paradigm one chooses. There are no Winslow births in Taunton before the 1800s so it is unlikely Judith was from Taunton anyway.]

See above: It is interesting to note that Jael Packard (John's sister) marries a John Smith in 1672 in Taunton, as does, Elizabeth, another sister, who married Thomas Alger. She is, according to suggested birth and marriage date, only 16 when married, whereas John is in his mid-30's. Savage, in writing of Elizabeth's marriage, suggests that she was prob. married in Taunton as Bridgewater at that time had no authority to perform legal marriages--perhaps true for the other brothers and sisters, as well.

[We have the primary sources for the death and marriage of Judith, so listing all these secondary sources that merely repeat that information only shows why we don't trust secondary sources: because so many people can't even transmit known information correctly.]
