[add comment] [edit] Editorial on style [12 January 2012]The narrative on this page was an obvious cut and paste from someone's research log, with quite a bit of repetition, no editing, or coherent organization. For several reasons I find this to be a very annoying style for a shared genealogy, chief being that it is hard to understand as a reader because of the lack of organization, and even sometimes contradictory statements, but also because it tends to treat good and bad sources equally, show no analysis, and often includes lots of fluff like lines of descent back to Adam, which would be better separated to the various respective pages than lumped on this one person's page. I have tried to revamp this into a more organized narrative as my way of trying to improve this page, though this is not my usual mode of genealogy. Fortunately there seemed to be one source that appears to be reasonably high quality, was short, in the public domain, and appeared to serve well, and I largely disposed of the rest. I doubt people will care, as the contributors don't seem to have any activity in three or four years. People wishing to see what was here, can of course, always inspect the past revisions which will be found in the page's history. --Jrich 11:08, 12 January 2012 (EST) |
